Who Do You Call?
Every Crew Knows the Call List
"In the firehouse, the call list was posted on the wall where everybody could see it. Who's the chief, who handles the rigs, who you call for a hazmat situation. You didn't go hunting for a phone number while the building was burning. The list was made before the emergency, on purpose."
"Your family needs that same list. If something happened to you, would they know to call your attorney? Your financial advisor? Your accountant? Would they even have the numbers? Most families have these relationships scattered across one person's memory โ and that person is exactly who might not be available when it counts."
This module builds your key contacts roster โ the professionals and decision-makers your family would need to reach, all in one place. We'll also clarify who holds important roles, like your executor and power of attorney.
The call list is made before the alarm โ never during.
Who Belongs on the List
Your Professional Roster
Two kinds of people belong here: the professionals you pay, and the people you've named to act. Tap each card.
The experts who know your situation: financial advisor, attorney, accountant or CPA, insurance agent, and banker. Each holds a piece of the puzzle. Your family should be able to reach every one of them โ by name and number โ without digging through old emails.
The people you've legally empowered to act: your executor (carries out your will), your financial power of attorney (handles money if you can't), and your healthcare proxy (makes medical decisions). These are roles, not just contacts โ and the people in them should know they hold them.
The human layer: close family, a trusted friend, doctors, and anyone who'd need to be notified quickly. Also note any employer or HR contact โ survivor benefits and final pay often run through them. These are the people who hold things together emotionally and practically.

The Drill
One call.
You've named your oldest child as your executor and your power of attorney. You finished the paperwork with your attorney, filed it in your safe, and figured you'd mention it "sometime." Is that enough?

"Don't just name people โ introduce them to each other where it makes sense. When your executor already knows your attorney and your advisor, the machine runs smoothly. When they're all strangers meeting for the first time during a crisis, everything slows down. A few introductions now save your family weeks later."
